SOULS of San Francisco Documentary: Ignition
ABOUT THE FILM: On the surface, Dijon Bowden is a talented street photographer who has told thousands of people’s stories. But anyone who has stood in front of his lens or who has gazed deeply into one of his photographs can tell you that there’s something bigger going on. IGNITION: Souls Of San Francisco is the story of a movement that’s caught fire in San Francisco and has started spreading across the nation. It’s the story of all sorts of souls, seen through a lens of love and compassion, awakening to their own presence and purpose and to the other souls around them. The magic in Dijon’s photography comes from the positive energetic force that he cultivates and radiates. This light is there, reflected back, in the eyes of each individual he photographs. His project, SOULS of Society, has connected hundreds of thousands of people in a growing community of empathy, openness, and awakening. The film follows Dijon and some of the people his project has touched, delving beyond his photographs to the heart of what he’s been called to do.
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER: Taylor Soppe is a Bay Area video creator who specializes in producing, shooting and editing web videos. This story began when she was hired to make a short video about Dijon. Seeing his interactions firsthand opened her eyes to the power and beauty of human connection and shifted her perspective on both filmmaking and her approach to life itself. This felt like the story she’d been waiting to tell. Through this film, Taylor hopes to impart the inspiration she witnessed and experienced to everyone that views it. SOUNDTRACK BY STEPHEN RYAN TUCKER: SF based producer Stephen Ryan Tucker is creating the soundtrack for the film. He can only be described with one word, passionate. His love of creating music that reflects his environment is made clear in every single one of his productions. There isn’t a single genre he hasn’t touched and the idea of making two songs in the same style is ludicrous. His work has been compared to Odesza, The Weeknd and even Eric Prydz. His most recent release was his pop duo Pretty, Handsome’s debut LP “Love, Or Something Like It.”
TRAILER SONG BY RANDOM RAB: “Master Of Gyroscopes” by Random Rab is the sonic backdrop for the trailer. Random Rab is the musical brainchild of producer, instrumentalist, and singer Rab Clinton. For more info: www.randomrab.com
