Hi there, I’m Dijon.

Dijon - Souls Vol 1

The first thing to know about me is that I love people. Since 2011 I’ve been walking the streets capturing thousands of stories for my ongoing street photography project SOULS of Society. SOULS is the story of our community told by people in their own words.

SOULS of San Francisco is the 1st chapter of the international SOULS of Society movement. The mission is to connect communities by telling stories that increase compassion, empathy, and spiritual awareness.

Soon there will be SOULS chapters in cities across the globe; each chapter comprised of local storytellers sharing the stories of everyday people in their communities.

We have a large community of over 160,000 people on social media that serves as a place for people to come together and connect. On SOULS everyone has a chance to be seen, be heard, and focus on what matter most: honoring every person by treating them with love and respect.

I also play in the electro-pop band Indigo Keys, do life coaching at How To Be A Motherfucking Legend and have a number of other creative projects you can check out at Dijon’s Dimension.

If you are a storyteller and want to start a SOULS chapter to represent your hood, here’s how:

  1. Send 5 stories from your city to dijon@soulsofsociety.com. Make sure they represent a diverse cross-section of your community. It must be original content created by you. Obviously bonus points for creativity.
  2. Tell us why you want to join us.
  3. Send a video of you dancing. Yes, we’re serious. Serious about partying.
