“Thanks. Got it. I’m Garry.”

“What’s y’all’s story?”

Ray – “We’re both burlesque dancers. I visiting from Chicago to do the Hubba Hubba Review tonight in the mission.”

Chave – “And I’m part of the cast of Beach Blanket Babylon.”

“How’d y’all get started doing this?”

Chave – “I went to an amateur night at a strip club and someone saw me and told me I should join this troupe and I was like ‘Yeah’.” And the I was like…’what did I just say yes to.’ That was about 9 years ago.“

Ray – "I’ve been a professional dancer for awhile and had my own dance company but the economy tanked and I was forced to shut it down so for the last 5 years I’ve been doing this. I really enjoy it but I’m still learning.”

“You must be pretty good after 5 years.”

“There’s always room for improvement. Getting sexier and more comfortable and learning all the intricacies of performance. You can see for yourself tonight in the mission.”
