“Hey, do you know where the shelter is?”

“Yeah, I think you go to the end of this street and turn left and then it’s like 3 blocks down.”

“Please…I’m hungry. I’m sick. Can you help out with anything?”

“Here you go.”

“I’m sick. I just got out of the hospital. I had brain cancer. They cut it out. See the side of my head? I’ve worked all my life. Now I’m sick. They gave me these pills…and they make me sick too.”

“Thank you for your strength. You’re going to be okay. Can you make it down to the shelter?”

“Yeah.”

“Ok, keep your head up. Bless.”
