I went to a Yin yoga class at Yoga Samadhi taught by this woman, Susan. Yin yoga focuses more on the feminine receptive aspect of yoga. You hold poses for a long time and receive the subtle vibrations of each posture.

All throughout the class I couldn’t stop staring at Susan because there seemed to be a light coming out of her that illuminated the whole space. When she demonstrated poses she seemed as graceful as a cat. After the class I told her, “Thank you for that class! You’re so vibrant and light.”

“Thank you. I’m glad you liked it.”

“Would you mind if I took your picture?”

“Well, I guess not. I used to do photography too, way back in the day. Then I started representing photographers and other artists. Now I teach yoga which works out for me because I’m taking care of my 91 year old mother who lives with me. It’s good because I don’t have to be away from home for too long.”

“How old are you?”

“I’m 65. When I was younger I used to think 65 was old. It’s not.”

“That’s crazy, I came home to help my mom with my grandmother because she has Alzheimers. She’s 81, my mom is 55. I want to bring her here. I think you two should meet.”

“I’m here every Saturday at 4.”
