“I moved out here from Pittsburgh in 1968.”

“That’s a cool time, I bet you have some stories.”

“Yeah, everyone was moving out here then. I like to tell people I came out here in a van that said "Free Love” on it.“

"Is that what happened?”

“No, but it’s a good story. The truth is that I was married with two kids so I had too much responsibility to be a real hippie. But San Francisco is an adventure no matter how you end up here.”
