
I walked into Freespace and this guy was there making art. He was using a ruler to draw tightly compressed parallel lines on oversized paper. It was kinda like when they teach you to draw horizons in art class so you can draw buildings with the correct perspective. Kinda like that, but with multiple horizons points and planes of depth. Every time I go he’s there making art so I walked up to him and said, “Every time I come here, you’re here making art.”
“Yep, that’s pretty much what I do. That piece I did over there is going to be in a show this weekend. And I did this mural right here.”
“What do you call this style?”
“I call it Dimensional Geometry. I wanted to go to art school, but I’ve just been working and working and now I don’t think I need it. I found a niche. And once you find a niche you just gotta feed it and it’ll take you somewhere.”
