“What’s your story and why’d you come to San Francisco to live it out?”

“My story? Hmm, I moved here from Colorado in 2008 to go to USF where I studied Environmental Studies. I got really into the food movement and for my senior project I helped start a community dinner program there. It’s held at the community center in the church at Turk and Lyon. We’d take all the food from local farmer’s markets that didn’t get used and prepare it for the community.”

“Cool. Are you still in school?”

“I’m finished now. I work at Bi-Rite and teach art to kids in my free time.

“So what’s next?”

“I’m really excited because I’m applying to work on a farm to get even more connected to the land.”
