This young woman was catching the bus you see in the background so we didn’t have a chance to talk, but she gave me her tumblr and there was some pretty interesting stuff there. Here’s her about me on her blog:
Jade Fair is a witch, a writer and a troublemaker. She learned her magic scooting around the veined ankles of her grandmother in sunny California, in community with other queer sick crip femme of color witches and healers, and through curious guidance from ancestors with unknown names. She believes the power of tarot lies in its ability to illicit truth-telling as an act of healing, especially for those of us who’s truth can dismantle systems of oppression. She grounds her work in African Traditional Religions, Hoodoo/Rootwork, anti-oppression principles, and earth based spiritual herbalist traditions. When she’s not giving tarot readings, she can be found dancing in yellow skirts like Oshun, doing nail art, or cooking yams for her ancestors and friends.
