“Hi there! I’m trying to document the culture of the city, would you mind if I took your picture?”

Woman – “Me? You want to take my picture?”

“Yeah, and hear your story.”

Woman – “Well you can take my picture but no speak much english.”

“Thanks. So you live in this neighborhood?”

Woman – “Si, for 27 years. I from El Salvador, he from Guatemala. I work housekeeping and he work hotel. Our kids live here too.”

Him – “Si, I work for hotel. I supposed to retire now. I 62, but now I work 4 more years for my granddaughter.”
