“Hey, wanna take a picture over here in front of these flowers?”
“Sure.”
“Awesome, it looks great. Before you go I also wanted to ask you ‘what’s your passion or purpose?”
“Oh my god…really?”
“Yeah.”
“Music. Singing. The voice. Movement. Creative exploration. Source and connecting to that at all times and expressing that through every action I do, especially in terms of performance and in groups of people. Inviting that creative source energy.”
“That’s awesome.”
“Yeah.”
“I don’t know why you were resisting it seems like it’s right there in the forefront of your mind.”
“I know! It’s always in the forefront of my mind. I’m not always doing it though. That’s why I’m frustrated with myself half the time.”
“I was just talking about that about my writing.”
“Really? I guess that’s what it is to be human, and an artist, and a creative person. It’s like, I wanna be manifesting this all the time but there are just certain things you’ve got to deal with.”
“For me I realize that the external things I create are just markers of the artistic process. The real art is the personal evolution. So you’re always making art, we’re making art right now. My favorite way is through romantic relationships. I’m exploring polyamory now and I have these extreme waves of bliss and joy, and then when things go bad and you’re going through it, you feel like you’re being ripped open in all these ways. But the key is to remember it’s just expansion. The Dalai Lama said ‘When you do physical exercise you recognize the soreness as proof of growth. Your muscles are literally being ripped apart so that they can expand and grow back stronger. The same process happens to your heart, if you’re conscious of that you can welcome your heart breaking knowing it’s expanding so you can experience more love.”
“Thank you. That’s exactly what I needed. My heart’s been breaking recently.”
“Me too.”
