“How’d you end up in San Francisco?”
“I moved up here from LA about 3 years ago. I would come and visit a lot, I had a friend that went to UC Berkeley and got a feel for the city. Pretty much right when I set foot here I was like, ‘This is my spot, this is where I need to be.’ It’s cool because I never really felt too comfortable in LA. Wasn’t really my scene, but this place is a cool town. I like it a lot.”
“What is San Francisco to you?”
“San Francisco is a changing place. Initially it was a place to come and be free with my art, and who I was…style wise. I didn’t really care about judgment here. It was a place where art surrounded me. Cuz I do art, I do illustrations, painting, and woodprints. So I came up here and it really allowed me to pursue art in a leisurely manner, but also progress without really going that career route with art. Up here I really felt like art has a different take. It’s something you do in a naturalized way as opposed to something you do to make money.”
