“What are you passionate about?”
“Urban development is really important to me. I studied international development in undergrad and I was always interested in the great disparities between the US and everywhere else. I think that stemmed from my parents being Vietnam refugees. We started out living in this tiny 2 bedroom apartment with 3 generations and ended up achieving this middle classism. I wondered how that translated to the rest of the world. In Vietnam there’s the North and the South. The Have and the Have Nots. I wanted to figure out a way to even the playing field or create development where it didn’t exist. I’m starting work on a project now to start a conversation about housing in San Francisco because this is a beautiful city and it shouldn’t just belong to one set of people."
