“Just spending time with him. Teaching him how to play soccer and football. My dad wasn’t around so I wanted to make sure I’m here for him.”
“My dad wasn’t around either, I think that’s the case for a lot of black men.”
“I’m sayin though, a lot of people ain’t steppin up when it’s time. My friends talkin bout their fathers ain’t around, that alone should give you the answer of what to do when it’s time. It’s simple…either you’re gonna stick around or you’re gonna leave.”
