“I don’t know what it is with kids these days, they don’t want to work hard, they don’t know how to communicate properly. They’re stuck on their devices and they expect it all to come easy. They give up when it gets hard. When I was growing up I used to manage a Burger King and it was my baby. I was an excellent manager and did everything my boss said because he was my boss. Then he up and sold the store and I was so pissed because he didn’t even tell me he was doing it. I told him, ‘How could you sell it without telling me?’ He said, ‘Look little lady, these are my chips, if you want to call the shots, you go get your own.’ It was such a blessing because I was so mad I decided I would never work for anyone again and I went out and started my own business. I made millions of dollars building it until it gave me the opportunity to run one of the biggest TV stations in the world.”
“What station?”
“Telemundo. I’m going to give you some advice…I don’t even know what you do, but if you want to take it to the next level, travel, immerse yourself in as many cultures as possible and learn as many languages as possible. You do that and the world is your oyster.”
