“Sao Paulo is an amazing place. So much beauty but a lot of poverty too. About 12 years ago they gave the poor money to help raise their standard of living, which is great, but since then they haven’t implemented any social programs to help people learn and sustain. You can give people help, but you have to teach them how to move forward also, otherwise you’ll just keep having to help them over and over again. Everyone should have access to being middle class. Otherwise the gap just widens.”

“Have you always lived here?”
“I was born here, then I lived in different parts of Brazil, Venezuela, and Angola. Then I married a Peruvian and went to Peru, came back here, then we moved to England for three years and finally back here.”
