“What was it like when you first connected?”
Him – “It was a lot of feelings, like butterflies, I knew I needed to follow it even though I didn’t know where it was going. There were points when I’d be looking in her eyes and had to turn away because it was too much and I didn’t know what to do about it.”
Her – “The first time I met him I was like, ‘Okay, this is a good person, I want this person in my life’. But when we first kissed, it sounds silly but, it was like I was in a different universe. And then we had a really great weekend.”
Him – “I think we saw each other for 4 or 5 days straight after that.”
“I love those.”
Him – “You just surrender.”
Her – “Absolutely, that’s what it’s about…surrendering.”
“That can be scary for people.”
Him – “Totally, we discussed that. It’s kinda like being crazy, but you just accept that you’re completely irrational because your heart knows.”
“What’s your favorite thing about him so far?”
Her – “That’s hard, there are so many things. I think it’s his open heart, how open and kind he is to the world. How inviting he is to people. How easy it is to be around him for anyone, I really love that.”
“What about for you?”
Him – “You know, I’ve been trying to put it in to words but it’s really a feeling. It really does feel like our hearts have known each other for longer than this life. She’s familiar, but I only just met her. It makes me realize why people make art, or music, or write poetry. You’re trying to encapsulate something that words can’t fully capture.”
Him – “We’ve been together a month and a half.”
Her – “But we’ve known each other forever.”
Him – “That’s how it feels.”
“How’d you meet?”
Her – “We met at the Teahouse with Ten Thousand Names in Oakland and vibes super hard right away. We connected about a week after we met and it’s been an explosion ever since.”
