“I think I’ve been a student of public health my whole life. At a very early age I realized I wanted to be a healer. I’ve taken a bunch of healing modalities. Public Health is all about healing populations of people at once. Healing large amounts of people who are suffering from different aliments and trying to find the unifying message that resonates with them. I did my undergrad in nutrition and felt that a lot of what I was learning with Western medicine was trying to make people feel better after they had already contracted diseases that were preventable from nutrition. I knew there was more I could learn about preventing suffering so I wanted to go back to school to learn what those tools were. Before then a lot of what I knew to be a healer was connecting with people outside the scientific world, which is powerful, but to connect with large amounts of people I think it’s important to know what’s happening in the world, popular beliefs, and how to be a bridge between those two worlds. I find myself straddling the world of knowing what everyone else is talking about, and also knowing what spirit is talking about. I believe that that’s the future.”
