“I feel like some of the people I’ve been dating lately get caught up in some external things about me. Like they find out I’m in this band or think I’m funny and would be good to take to a party. It ends up being more about their perception of me rather than them being interested in actually getting to know the real me. Some people think because I’m a man I don’t have feelings, or because I’m black I’m just this sexual being.That’s why I like to take a couple months getting to know people, it’s not worth having heartache over someone who doesn’t even really see the real you.”
