“My true name is Ansar El Muhammad, it means helper of God. I’m a positive black brother. I joined the Nation of Islam in 1992. I was born in Mississippi and raised on the west coast. I had a rough childhood, growing up my sister was molested and I was abused. When I was 15 my mom chose my stepdad and over me and put me out the house. I had to hustle and that led to jail and other bad things. But I’ve always been a smart brother. I read 1000 books by the time I was 13 and became a writer. Since I read so much I knew a few real things about the world and was able to better handle some of the things I was going through.”
