“This might be a strange concept for you to understand, but God is important to me. It wasn’t always this way. When I was younger I was saying things about God that I was taught that I didn’t really understand. It wasn’t until I moved away from my support system to come to America that I begin to truly understand. At first the distance was exhilarating, but then it became lonely because I didn’t understand this new culture that I wasn’t born into. That led me to reconnect with God. It’s very strange for me to think that anyone would not be in touch with spirituality because it is at our core. It’s important to have that at our core. It gives you character.”
