“I was adopted at birth so my sense of identity was, and still is, like putting a puzzle together. Not knowing what my parents looked or having a cultural reference to tap into was hard. I grew up in Chicago in a predominately latino neighborhood before I moved to Sebastopol which has no diversity. I’ve done a lot of traveling to incorporate other cultures into my identity.”
