“In 2007 I found out someone I love was sentenced to 20 years in prison. His mom died unexpectedly soon after he was sent to prison. It was heartbreaking. I felt powerless to help. After graduating from Harvard Law I became a public interest attorney and met woman after woman who were suffering – financially and emotionally – due to the incarceration of a family member. I realized the solution was connecting these women to uplift and support each other. That’s why I began Essie Justice Group. We have a plan to build up resources and support for women and we need your support to make it happen.”
