“In 2001 my son Kerry was taken away and sentenced to 66 years in prison. It was hard at the beginning when he was getting moved around and there was very little communication from him. People don’t know that’s how it’s going be so they start panicking. That’s the kind of thing I want to share with those who are trying to adjust to having their loved ones in prison.”

“I deal with it one day at a time. I do a lot of praying. I do a lot of meditating and thinking about ‘How can I get from this one day to the next and be here for my son’ knowing that there is no one else fighting 24/7 to get him out of prison. I know I must keep it together for him and for my grandson who doesn’t have a father.”
