This is Part 3 of Verleah’s story. Part 1:http://on.fb.me/1ySsECn Part 2:http://on.fb.me/1a2Yea1
“After he got out of jail, my brother became an alcoholic. I want him to be okay, but I don’t wanna get my hopes up too much. I’m trying to stay in the middle emotionally. The support I get from Essie helps a lot with that. We talk about things we want to see change in the criminal system.”
“What do you want to see change?”
“I feel like they don’t get people ready to come back into the world. They come out lost. My brother went in when he was 18 and when got out when he was 23 I tried to take him to set up a bank account and he didn’t know anything. He was just hiding money under his pillow.”
