“In a lot of ways this film is our valentine to San Francisco. A lot of the actors, like Jimmy, are non actors. We bring in naturalistic dialogue, and locations like Hunter’s Point that perhaps are not familiar to people. There’s a lot of kids that grow up in SF that have never even been to Hunter’s point. And on the flip side there are a lot of kids that grew up in Hunter’s point that didn’t even know there were white people in San Francisco because it’s so isolated.“
