“Nothing in particular. Just enjoying the sun and our cider after work. It’s our favorite thing to do.”
“What’s special to you about that cider?”
“We’re enjoying a dying thing. Back in the 40’s and 50’s when apples were a really huge staple of our diet there were tons of orchards everywhere. In the 60’s concentrate hit the market. People started buying concentrate from China because it was 70% cheaper. That hit apple farmers hard and now almost all the farmers have sold out to vineyards because pinot noir grapes grow super well in the same soil that grow great apples. This here is a delicacy.”
